Respite and Support Services

Opal’s Family Support Workers meet with families in their home, in the community, in the office, and by telephone to provide assistance in navigating governmental and community services and accessing supports for children and adults with disabilities.

Camp Wonder

Opal Family Services and the Christ Church (Parish) Church to offer day camps through the months of July and August 2024! With a ratio of one camp counselor for each child who requires this level of support, we offer a safe, inclusive, and engaging program full of activities, crafts, games, and outings. We offer inclusive programming and provide assistance to meet the unique needs of our campers.

Registration will open in April 2024!!!

Youth Group

Opal staff and volunteers facilitate a weekly social and recreation group for youth aged 12-19. Activities include games, baking, crafts, community service projects, sliding, hiking, scavenger hunts, bingo, and community outings. Opal’s Youth Group offers opportunities for social and recreational activities in an inclusive environment. This enhances life-skills, social skills, physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and promotes positive friendships.

Adult Social and Recreation Program

Also known as Adult Drop in, Opal staff and volunteers facilitate a weekly social and recreation group for adults with disabilities. Activities include games, scavenger hunts, crafts, community service projects, and dances. Adults with disabilities are underrepresented in the workplace and often face social isolation. Opal’s Adult Group offers opportunities for social and recreational activities in an inclusive environment. This enhances life-skills, social skills, physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and promotes positive friendships.

Kids Club

Opal Family Services staff and volunteers help provide daily after-school programs for ages 5-15 during the school year. Daily pick-up from school can be provided for families. Activities include games, baking, crafts, bingo, and community outings that are much similar to our Youth Group program.
